woke up at 930 well rested. threw on our swimsuits and headed to the beach. stephh got our mixer and then found me in the sammmmmme beach chairs as yesterdady. this time the sun was out without a cloud in the sky. we started out relaxed and reading our books. then three dudes were attempting to play volleyball. yup they were bad but needed another to even out the teams. i felt bad and offered to play – again to even out the teams. after my team won they decided we needed to rearrange the teams. sooo i said --- wait, i pick steph to play with me. so steph and i played 2 on 3 and won that match too. we returned to our chairs after a quick dip in the water to get the sand off of us and then returned to our chairs where alberto kept us well hydrated and fed. the dudes then came and talked to us. of course one of their parents definitely paid their way to the resort-- gofigure. and they were all inclusive. steph went and played volleyball again-- but it was 6 on 6 sand ball. horrible. ohwell. i took a nap. she met some new dudes from chicago. they wantedto hang out with us for dinner. i decided i had had enough and went to shower. so i went and showered. then steph ccame back adnsaid that we were joining the chicago dudes for dinner. so threw on a dress and headed to the mexican restaurant in the mall. ordered a water (had to come bottled) and chicken fajitas. one of the dudes sang along wih the piano player to margaritaville. after our meal – which was 57 dollar for five of us plus two drinks for each of them, we returned to the resort fond free wifi so i could update my blog. then steph and the boys went out downtown. i foundout target is trying to get my start date to be may 21—a date i already explained to them wouldnt work since it was the first day of my seven days bahama cruise. well see how that goes over. frustrating. well time for bed :-) back to msp tomorrow morning.
Mission: to walk all seven continents before we turn 30. Only one more to go.....

puerta vallarta day 3
waking up was rather difficult this morning. it was 10am and steph was all ready for the beach as i was barely able to move. we decided we are at a five star resort we are going to drink the water. put on our bikinis and head to the beach insearch of a bloody mary and a ranchero for breakfast. couldnt find a breakfast place. but got the bloody mary while watching the dudes try and play volleyball. decide a greasy hamburgeusa will have to do. that with the fries and the bloody mary help a little. we go back to our beach chairs and nap. for a long time. steph gets ansy i continue to be passed out. the food helped. too bad the sun disappeared and it was not as warm as it should be for mexico this time of year. story of my life this year apparently. returned to our hotel room at 5 to shower and figure out what to do for dinner. we ended up walking about one and a half miles down the road to find this one resttaurant that esteban talked about-- prime. we ended up ginog to portobello instead. andrea ordered the salmon bowtie pasta and steph ordered the veal jumbo shrimp plate for 470 pesos. we both had a glass of wine and then after stuffing our faces with really spicey jalepeno olive oil and bread and our main dishes which were delishes. we couldnt pass up our favorite desserts andrea got the crème brulee and steph got the tiramusu. then we paid our 80 dollar tab hopped a cab complete with foodbabies and then decided we best lay down in bed to let the food babies settle. then at eight thirty pm we decided to crawl into bed and watch the national geographic channnel talk about the egyptian pyramids. then by nine pm andrea was passed out. steph woke up after an hour nap and fell asleep by midnight.
puerto vallarta day 2
alarms went off at 9am in time for us to get ready for our 930 am breakfast salespitch thing. we got down there and signed up for the ninety minute presentation trying to get us to invest 40k into 30 years of travel. outside my budget. but we got free breakfast. steph had a ranchero—overeasy egg with enchilada sauce. mmm looked tastey!! i had an omelette complete with cheese, mushrooms, ham, green pepper, and onion. mmmm. Esteban was our sales pitch person and once he looked at us he knew we were not actually interested in the sales pitch. he just had to put us through the motions. he owns a dance studio with his girlfriend and apparently they are quite good. he was from colombia originally. he was quite entertaining. we toured the golf resort, the workout facility, and even got to hang out upstairs in one of the penthouses overlooking the beach. then he had to do his sales pitch. oh its was already two hours later mind you. esteban failed then he brought his friend mel over. mel is the longest running dude and he had some good deals. offered us a deal for 10k. too bad it is still outside of my pricerange. both of them were impressed i vacation once a month. and am a student. oh well. they didnt understandthe whole couchsurfing thing. no use telling people working for a five star resort thats how i roll.
Meanwhile-- esteban brought his friend jesse over-- a cowboy from austin who is a dj down here somewhere and tried talking jesse into giving us free wristbands for the st patricks day party happening at the shamrock in bucerias. a town not too far away. esteban said hed slip us direcions and the wristbands into our room so we could see him there.
after esteban failed at his sale pitch we had to talk to two more people on taking surveys on how our time is so far and the other to give us our 100$ cash. now it is currently 1245 and it is time for the beach. we dont grab our own tequilla instead we find a beach chair and a waitor and start with pina coladas. then onto 4 more margaritas. we shared a nacho too. at about 630pm we headed back to the condo to get ready for our st pattys night. no note from esteban. jerk. we did not have green either. we started walking towards the market insearch of a cab. found one. 30 minutes later and 10$ we were dropped off right infront of the shamrock. total dance party block party with live irish bands. we go inside to the bar to grab a drink lines are way too long. we head back out and notice there is a balcony/upper part. so we head there, but they have the staircase blocked off. somehow steph and i make it up becase one of the bartenders said okay let them go and he told me to watch out for my friend. we had our own private bartender who kept feedign us 3$ coronas. oh. and then there was this random dude with a huge smile that kept smiling at us and talking to us. we hung up in the eagles nest for awhile and then dude wanted to go downstairs and dance. not a dancer. head down anyway and we try and lose him. both of us empty our beer and need more. decide to hhead back upstairs and watch from the railing outside of the rooftop. check and check. made some nice friends. we were watching the live irish bar when all of a sudden we noticed our friend with the big smile is their drummer?!?! what! hilarious. the dude sitting next to us –his wife is related to the bar owner and they have another friend with them. we refer to him as 'dad' he was watching out for us. we soon find out the eagles nest rooftop is VIP for everyone that knows the owner. she comes up decked out in her irish attire. green everything. and the band people come up too. the lead singer sits and talks with us. oh and all i had to do to get more beer is hold up my empty bottle and do a sad face. then we had two more beers coming our way. :-) there were other people that came and we talked to max—was engaged to the owners daughter but hes a player. we called him flow because he looked like your authentic california surfer dude. he was quite funny.-- or funny to make fun of. huge smile dude came and ate the leftovers of stephs potpie. he scarfed that thing down. we each had about 8 beers and we spent 75$ total for the night. which included both ½ hour cab rides. stephs potpie and potatoes, all of our beer, and our 5$ wristband that esteban did not hook us up with. we werent planning on staying out too late. turns out we didnt get home until 2am. overall it was an excellent night
puerto vallarta day 1
Steve dropped me off at the airport at 330am. Steph and her mom were waiting in the car ahead of us. Steph and her mom went and grabbed scramblers at Dennys and drove by the condo before returning to the airport. Steph and I then checked in, and waited to get through airport security when they opened at 400am. No problems what so ever. Then we headed to our gate all the way on the end of the terminal G. Boarded the plane, again no problem and I passed out before the aircraft even took off.
We landed in atlanta at 845 AM and quickly made it to our other gate. We just had enough time to grab a smoothie and i grabbed a sabaro ranchero breakfast wrap. We got to our gate as they started calling out the first class boarders. Both of us made it to the bathroom and then boarded when they announced everyone to board.
We were seated in the 5th row from the back. The back of the plane was quite empty actually. so steph hopped in the last row and waited for the door to be closed before laying across all three. I as soon a they announced they had shut the door immediately laid down across all three seats with my pink blow up neck pillow and passed out. apparenty there were issues with the plane or something because we did not push back for awhile. well atleast according to steph because i was out within a matter of minutes after laying down.
the four hour flight went by rather quickly and I dont remember any of it. before i knew it we were landing in puerto vallarta. quickly threw in my contacts and put my stuff away and was ready to get through customs. customs were rather quick. there was even a button you had to press which gave random baggage searches. we passed.
we then set out for the exit. we had to find a lady in a pink shirt beige pants. found her. she offered us free water and escorted us directly to our free cab to the resort. we were welcomed with cold washclothes and were given our room in an employee tower. we have two double beds and a kitchen dining room table and small television. good enough for us.we hiked around a little bit in an attempt to find a grocery store so we could have food in our room. found a bottle of tequila and margartia mix so we could make our own drinks. we then changed into our swimsuits and headed down to the ocean to find food and drinks and sun time. found it found it found it. i had chiken quesidillas as did steph. and a couple margaritas. after lunch we went and laid down by the ocean under an umbrella hut and watched the sunset. then we came back, showered and changed and hiked around the area a little bit. after hot tubing with some minnesotan first year college students who could not get over the fact that we graduated in 2006 and 2004-- we decided to call it a night. of course before we could fall asleep we ordered pizza. a supreme pizza-- mushroom, pepperoni, sausage, tomato. andrea passed out before the pizza got here but steph got the door. the sausage were cut up pieces of hot dogs. the leftovers went in the fridge where andrea found it at 2am.
