AntarcticA Day 2: Bonus day in Buenos Aires

Woke up around 930 am in Time for our included breakfast at the hotel. Enjoyed a meal of scrambled eggs, meats and toast before trying to decide what to do with the day. According to Trip advisor, the rose garden, Japanese garden and palermo soho are fun areas. so we walked tot he metro station nearest our hotel and after going to the atm and getting change for our 100peso bill, we embarked to Palermo. ten minutes on the metro and we were to the botanical gardens area. walked the grounds and then went tot he Japanese garden which was 10USD to go into, but it was nice and peaceful in the busy city (and had bathrooms). then we embarked on our two miles walk to palermo soho, a district highly rated. stopped at a cafe, and enjoyed a cold, blended coffee, ice cream and baileys en route. then we made it to soho, walked around hungry for lunch and decided upon a Mexican restaurant. we each had the lunchtime special, matt a meat and cheese combo fajita and i the pollo (chicken) fajitas. Our special each came with a beer.

Our waiter explained to us that the area was very touristy and very expensive. he likes to go out on Peru ave where it meets florida avenue (which happens to be near our hotel). so we decided to catch the metro back to our hotel and go out later. Made the metro no problem and then picked up a couple room beers and I fell asleep for like three hours according to matt. A Siesta. then after i woke up we went and walked Peru ave and found a lively bar, with many young peolpe, called Molly's Malones, or something like that. they had happy hour until 10pm and we enjoyed 2 for 1 pints of beer and ordered the nachos, which came out as chips and cold cheese and guac. not very impressed, but for the happy hour beers, and the multitudes of people there it was worth it. we then decided to retreat to our room to watch ted 2, have a couple room beers and try and wake up early. Of course, whenever we are abroad we have to try the mcdonalds, so we picked up the 3USD bigmac to enjoy in our room and retreated home. well see howh early we wake up in the morning. Technically tomorrow, our tour begins as we have to check into a nearby hotel and meet with the group. Sunday we depart for our flight to ushuaia and embark on our voyage to antarctica.
