Frankfurt
Yesterday for dinner we grabbed burgers and fries from oxford (a cheap college pub) then went to Julius' house to hang out before HP7 part 2.I wore my harry potter shirt from kirsten--therefore I was hermione, jens was ron and we drew a lightening bolt on basties forhead so he could be harry potter. Ester, and Bastie met up with us and we left for the movie at 1145. Julius made sure it wasn't sold out. When we arrived we got sweet popcorn, a thing of nachos and salty popcorn. Tried the sweet popcorn, it tastes like CRAP! Ewww. Then I got the 3D goggles!!! Watching it in 3D was Awesome! When voldemort blows up there was confetti flying through the audience!! FYI the previews were all in german so I have no idea what cool movies are coming out yet! Afterwards we tried to stop by a club-yes at 3am-but they stopped admitting people at 2, so we said our good byes and headed home.
Wednesday we got up at 11 and got ready to head for Frankfurt to see the town and watch the world cup game. When we got to frankfurt it was raining. Tried walking the shopping street but it was raining. Moved to a mall hoping the rain would pass, jens got his little bro a bday present, exited the shopping mall and it was still raining. We walked along this road in search of this coold cafe jens remembered and we eventually found it believe it or not! It was super cute, I had a hot cocoa and a "pancake" with nutella and strawberries. Quite tasty!! Then his friend Eva joined us and I had a flavored lemonade. We then attempted to see the sites of frankfurt but it started pouring even heavier then before so we grabbed dinner- I had beef brisket with green sauce and potatoes and frankfurt is known for its "apple wine". After dinner, (we watched USA girls beat france in the other semi final game) we went to the tram to get to the stadium. En route we purchased sweden scarves!! (Jens hates japan since they beat germany) got to our 3rd row upperdeck seats in the corner (50 euros) and enjoyed the game. I think I can now talk my way through a soccer game-- maybe! Lol. Then we ran to the Sbahn and caught our 2300 ICE train to karlsruhe. Tomorrow we wake up early and go to Hamburg!!

I do believe your "pancake" was more of a crépe...no? :) Sounds like you're having soooo much fun!
ReplyDeletei thought crepe too but crepes are thinner and made on a special crepe maker wherease pancakes are slightly thicker than a crepe but much smaller compared to thhe american counterpart-- and pancakes are made in a pan. go figure lol i am totally having the time of my life :-) hopefully the crepe comes tomorrow in paris :-)
